Tsuyu Asui

A frog-featured girl who speaks with blunt, unfiltered honesty and asks to be called Tsu. Calm under pressure, she is among the most sensible members of the class: during the villain ambush she talks her panicking classmates out of a doomed frontal assault and carries them to safety through water. Her deadpan delivery makes her a reliable source of both rescue and awkward truths.

Short and slight, with pronounced frog-like features that define her look: a wide mouth, enormous round dark eyes with heavy lower lids, and a habit of resting a fingertip against her chin. Her dark green hair falls to her waist in a single thick tie that curls upward at the end like a bow. In class she wears the standard U.A. uniform, and her hero costume is a green and black full-body suit with a webbed collar, oversized swim-style goggles pushed up on her head, and large flipper-like gloves and boots.

Tsuyu is blunt in the most disarming way possible, saying exactly what she observes with no malice and no filter, then adding that she speaks her mind whenever anything comes up. That candour makes her the class's most reliable voice of reason. She is unflappable in emergencies, thinks through options while others panic, and is quick to insist that people call her by the familiar nickname she prefers. She is also genuinely caring, keeping an eye on those weaker or more frightened than herself and protecting them without fuss. Her calm delivery can read as flat, but she is warm underneath, and she does not tolerate reckless behaviour from her classmates.

Tsuyu was born with a frog Quirk that gives her the physical traits and abilities of an amphibian, features visible from childhood. She comes from a working family and is the eldest of three siblings, taking on household responsibility early and largely raising her younger brother and sister while her parents worked long hours. That upbringing shaped her practical, level-headed temperament and her instinct to look after people. Set on becoming a hero, she passed the U.A. entrance examination through the standard route and entered Class 1-A. She also carries a lifelong self-consciousness about how different her appearance is from other people's, though she rarely lets it show.

1. Class 1-A Introduction

   Tsuyu joins Class 1-A and immediately stands out for her frankness, correcting classmates' assumptions in a completely even tone. She asks that people use her preferred nickname rather than her surname, a request she repeats throughout the year, and quickly settles into the role of the group's most grounded member.

2. Quirk Apprehension Test

   During Aizawa's assessment she uses her leaping power and tongue to handle the physical events, performing solidly in the middle of the class. She watches the expulsion threat unfold with her usual composure while others around her come apart, and comments plainly on what the teacher is really testing.

3. Battle Trial

   Tsuyu takes part in All Might's indoor combat exercise alongside her classmates and offers observations on the matches from the monitor room, particularly on the damage caused by the stronger students. Her commentary underlines how unevenly matched the class's raw power levels are at this stage.

4. U.S.J. Attack

   Warped into the shipwreck zone with Midoriya and Mineta, Tsuyu is the one who keeps them alive, snatching both boys out of the water with her tongue and carrying them to the wrecked boat. She calmly explains her frog abilities, assesses the villains below, and helps engineer their escape.

Stranded together in the flood zone, she rescues him from the water and works through the situation with him. She speaks to him with characteristic bluntness, including about his habit of injuring himself, but plainly trusts his judgement.

She keeps the panicking Mineta functional during the U.S.J. attack, pulling him to safety and coolly ignoring his outbursts. Her unflappability is the direct counterweight to his cowardice throughout their shared ordeal.
