Gravely wounded and left comatose by the attack on the capital, he returns bearing a contract with the fire spirit Salamander. Steady, fair and fiercely protective of his squad and siblings, he embodies the ideal of noble responsibility.

Fuegoleon is a broad-shouldered man with vivid orange-red hair swept back from a high forehead and sharp, steady eyes that rarely betray emotion. He wears the deep red robe of the Crimson Lion Kings with a heavy mantle and lion motifs, dressed more like a commanding officer than a duelist. His bearing is upright and unhurried, and he speaks with measured authority. After the injury that costs him his left arm, he is later seen with a limb of living flame granted by a fire spirit, wreathing his side in burning light whenever his magic stirs.

Dignified and principled, Fuegoleon is the rare royal who genuinely judges people by effort and results rather than birth. He is stern with his own squad, pushing recruits hard because he believes potential wasted is a sin, yet he listens when subordinates speak and admits when he is wrong. He values the kingdom above his family name and openly states his ambition to become Wizard King so he can reshape a society that wastes talent. Calm even in crisis, he analyses before striking and keeps his temper where his elder sister would ignite. His respect for Asta, offered before the boy has proven anything to the nobility, marks him early as one of the story's moral anchors.

Born to the royal Vermillion family, Fuegoleon grew up between a ferociously strong elder sister and an eager younger brother, in a house where fire magic and personal excellence were inherited expectations. Rather than coast on privilege, he built a reputation through discipline and battlefield results, eventually taking command of the Crimson Lion Kings, a squad known for rigorous training and pride in service. He watched the kingdom's rigid class structure crush capable commoners and concluded that the system itself was the enemy, resolving to earn the Wizard King's seat and change it. By the time the story opens he is regarded as one of the leading candidates for that position.

1. Magic Knights Entrance Exam

   Presiding over the recruitment trials, Fuegoleon is one of the few captains who watches Asta's performance without contempt, noting the boy's determination and unusual anti-magic. His even-handed judgement contrasts sharply with the open scorn shown by other royal captains and marks him as a different kind of noble.

2. Royal Capital Assault

   When the Eye of the Midnight Sun attacks the capital, Fuegoleon leads the defence and confronts the group's leader directly. The battle ends catastrophically: he loses his left arm and is left comatose, a shock that galvanises the Magic Knights and forces his elder sister to take temporary command of his squad.

3. Elf Reincarnation

   With the kingdom overrun by reincarnated elves, Fuegoleon awakens from his coma, his lost arm replaced by flame through a contract with the fire spirit Salamander. Returning to the battlefield at full strength, he fights the invaders alongside his rival Nozel and helps stabilise the capital's defence.

4. Spade Kingdom Conflict

   As devil hosts threaten the alliance, Fuegoleon stands among the kingdom's senior commanders, coordinating the Magic Knights and preparing them for a war on foreign soil. His name continues to be raised in discussions of who should lead the kingdom's knights into the coming era.

The wildest of the royal siblings takes over his squad while he lies unconscious, driving his knights through brutal training in his name. Their approaches differ completely, yet her fury at his injury shows how deeply she values him.
