Nozel Silva

Captain of the Silver Eagles and head of the royal House Silva, Nozel is cold, proud and dismissive of commoners, carrying the bearing expected of a royal. His harshness toward his sister Noelle masks guilt and fear rooted in their mother's death, and as the truth about that death surfaces he gradually becomes her protector and a steadfast pillar of the Magic Knights, willing to set rank aside when the kingdom is threatened.

Nozel is a tall, severe young nobleman with pale silver hair worn in an elaborate arrangement of braids, two long plaited locks falling in front of his shoulders while the rest is gathered behind him. His narrow eyes and habitually flat expression give him an air of permanent disdain. He dresses in the ornate white and silver of the Silver Eagles, a feathered mantle and layered robes cut for a royal rather than a soldier, and he carries himself with rigid posture at all times. In combat his silhouette is often blurred by drifting mercury, which coils around him like living metal armour.

Cold, formal and exacting, Nozel projects the arrogance expected of a royal and initially treats commoners, especially Asta, as beneath consideration. That haughtiness masks a man weighed down by responsibility: he is the eldest Silva, the head of his house and a captain who carries the memory of a mother he could not save. His cruelty toward his youngest sister is deliberate distance, an attempt to keep her away from a truth and a danger he believes will kill her. As the war escalates he becomes more openly protective, acknowledges strength wherever it appears and works with rivals he once looked down on. He hates helplessness above all and pushes himself to the edge rather than lose another family member.

Born into House Silva, one of the Clover Kingdom's royal families, Nozel was raised as heir and expected to embody its pride. His mother Acier Silva was a legendary Magic Knight whom he idolised, and her death shortly after giving birth to his youngest sister shattered him. Learning that her decline was not natural but the work of a curse left him with a rage he could not direct at anything. He rose to command the Silver Eagles, a squad of nobles and royals whose prestige he guarded jealously, and became one of the kingdom's most respected captains and a perennial name in talk of the next Wizard King, all while keeping his family's grief and its secret locked away.

1. Magic Knights Entrance Exam and Dungeon

   Nozel appears among the captains judging new recruits, dismissing Asta outright and refusing him a place in the Silver Eagles. He is cold to his own sister in public, and his behaviour establishes the rigid class hierarchy that the story's commoner heroes will spend the series pushing against.

2. Royal Capital Assault

   When the Eye of the Midnight Sun strikes the capital and a fellow captain is struck down, Nozel joins the counterattack and is forced to see that the kingdom's enemies do not care about bloodlines. His rivalry with the Vermillion family is sharpened by the loss, and he begins taking the threat seriously.

3. Elf Reincarnation

   During the invasion of reincarnated elves Nozel fights across the capital, defending civilians and clashing with enemies far beyond ordinary Magic Knights. Standing beside captains he once treated as competitors, he starts to acknowledge his sister's growth and the value of the commoner knights he had written off.

4. Dark Triad and Heart Kingdom

   With devil hosts moving against the alliance, Nozel confronts the enemy connected to his mother's death. Fighting alongside his sister rather than shielding her, he finally lets her share the truth of Acier's fate, and their combined effort turns his oldest grief into a reason to stand on the front line.
